Control the percentage of populated space relatively to its size with the density slider to get consistent density between emitter objects of different sizes. The number of models even adjusts when changing the size so that the density stays the same.
With Graswald Pro, you get the same density settings. But with the plants per square meter option, you can also change the size of assets without changing the density. For more control and optimization for larger scenes, you can also make full use of the integrated children options to clump plants together or add more randomization. And with advanced orientation settings, you can make plants follow the sun (or any other light source). Plus, you can change the random size or let your plants only grow on individual vertices or inside an object by changing the source options.
In Graswald, you can simulate the seasons by customizing the look of the plant materials. Using different sliders, you can alter the age of your plants, making it possible to have young fresh leaves for a lovely spring atmosphere or old, broken, yellow leaves to nail those winter scenes. Plus, you can customize the dryness of your grass, add color variation and even create dead grass patches with easy to use sliders.
The same season options but we added more masking options for even more control. Adjust the intensity and age effect of your individual leaves with two additional sliders. Alter the colors with simple but effective controls to fit your needs. Take more control over your translucency to better match reference images. Even adjust the specularity and roughness right in the materials tab for your inner perfectionist. And use the Pass Index option to get easy masks for compositing your final images.

Add believable wind effects with a few clicks for animation. Change the speed, strength, noise and much more right in the Graswald menu. Together with Blender's internal force fields, you can magically breathe life into your scenes. You can even reuse and modify existing turbulence simulations for greater speed and consistency. And when combined with the hair simulation options, you'll get realistic wind in minutes.
In Graswald, assets are installed as packages. Graswald comes with its own four packages. The Package Manager allows you to install or load in other packages as well. That way, you can for example easily integrate new Graswald packages into Blender without having to reinstall everything from scratch.
Pro users use more than one asset library. That's why we included the Package Creator with Graswald Pro. This allows you to easily set up your own packages to use your assets within Graswald. And with the Package Manager included, you can load and install any packages you want.
Graswald's easy to use and simple to understand user interface lets you do the work you need to do - even if you're just getting started with Blender. That means you can focus on your artwork without having to worry about learning new software.
Graswald Pro's user interface is designed to keep all the different settings that Pro user need well-structured and organized. With multiple panels and bonus operators to expand, you can work in a clean environment without lacking the settings you need to do your work. And thanks to an interface tailored for Blender 2.8, it will look consistent in every situation.

Graswald and Graswald Pro are add-ons for the 3D Open Source Creation Suite Blender. They allow you to import nature assets into Blender and scatter, customize and render them without having to set up additional particle systems, modifiers or materials. The Asset Library is designed for non-Blender users who do not benefit from a Blender integration. It features all the models (as .max, .ma, .c4d and .fbx files) and textures (as .png files) that come with Graswald Pro. This allows everyone to import these models in any 3D software, set up plant materials with the according textures and use them in their work. Yes, all of the 32 different species that can be found in the Graswald Asset Library ship with Graswald Pro.
If you bought Graswald before the 3rd of March 2020, you automatically got upgraded to Graswald Pro. Congrats!
Yes. Graswald and Graswald Pro have been created with a Blender integration at its core, so you can use them right away. While Graswald and Graswald Pro should normally work in newer Blender versions as well, there might be bugs that won't be fixed until these versions of Blender are officially released as we can't provide support for an ever changing software.
Yes. With the newly integrated Package Creator that comes with Graswald Pro, it has become very easy to create your own packages that you can then use within any version of Graswald.
Absolutely. When a bunch of new assets are released, they might be sold separately as a package, but updates and single species added to Graswald Pro will always be free.
We sell Graswald Pro via Gumroad. If you bought it on our website, you can log into gumroad.com and can then find Graswald Pro under https://gumroad.com/library. Here you can always download the newest version. If you bought Graswald Pro via the Blender Market, you should see it on your account.
Installing Graswald Pro works just like installing any other Blender add-on. Simply download the .zip file. Then paste it somewhere on your computer. Do not unzip it. Next, open blender and go to the user preferences under Edit/Preferences. Go to the Add-on section and click on install. Then, select the zip file and click on Install Add-on from File. Make sure to mark the little checkbox. If it gives you an error message, close and re-open Blender, and try again. It should be working now. You can find the Graswald menu in the properties panel on the right side of your 3D Viewport. Hit n on your keyboard to make it appear/hide.
You can access the Graswald menu by hitting n to open the properties panel on the right side of your 3D viewport. From there, you can create new particle systems, add plants, scatter, customize materials and much more.

No, there are a extra few plants, that only ship with Graswald Pro or the Asset Library. These are Perennial Ryegrass, Wall Barley, Autumn Hawkbit, Common Daisy, Maple Saplings, Chery Laurel leaves, other various leaves and one species of moss. If you are a Blender user, we highly recommend buying either Graswald or Graswald Pro. We had multiple Blender users, who bought the Library first and then wanted to switch to Graswald or Graswald Pro. Having to set up your own particle systems and materials takes a very long time. Plus, you cannot make use of the add-on's scattering, optimization and customization options. If you're not a Blender user, then go for it! Otherwise, we suggest you download the free version of the assets and the add-on first to get a feeling for the difference on a small scale, before purchasing the whole Asset Library. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at support@graswald3d.com.

Although this depends strongly on your choice of software, the basic workflow for using the models stays roughly the same. First, you'll want to import the models you want to use as fbx into your 3D software. Then, you'll have to set up a material for the plants. This step varies with different render engines. You can use the textures that ship with the assets and plug them into the right sockets of your shader: The Color Map should go into a color, diffuse or albedo input. You can mix the Old Color Map with the default color by using the mixing and masking tools of your render engine/lookdev software. The normal map goes into the normal input and, optionally, you can also plug in the specular map into anything that controls the reflections of your material. Also, don't forget that plants have a translucency or subsurface scattering component which you want to include into your shader/material as well. Finally, you can place the assets by using a scattering tool or by simply placing them by hand.
We have created a free version of the Asset Library which includes two plant species with their corresponding textures.
