What's inside?

Blender Add-on

Graswald is an Add-on for Blender. It comes with easy to use features for quick import of the Graswald assets, fast and easy scattering and distribution, optimization features like LODs or different material qualitites, basic Smart Materials for customizing the look and feel of the plants by changing the age and more.

3D Models

Graswald Pro ships with 20 different species of plants and debris as 887 individual 3D Models. They come in two levels of detail and as single or clump models, allowing you to create even larger scenes. Each species has different variants (Big, Small, Dead, Flowers, etc.) and each variant has a multitude of individual models. We also provide proxy models for each variant, giving you even more optimization.

How to get started?

Installation

Installing Graswald works just like installing any other Blender add-on. Simply download the .zip file. Then paste it somewhere on your computer. Do not unzip it. Next, open blender and go to the user preferences under Edit/Preferences. Go to the Add-on section and click on install. Then, select the zip file and click on Install Add-on from File. Make sure to mark the little checkbox. If it gives you an error message, close and re-open Blender, and try again. It should be working now. You can find the Graswald menu in the properties panel on the right side of your 3D viewport. Hit n on your keyboard to make it appear/hide.

There is no need to install the assets additionally, they have been added with the installation of the add-on and can be acessed via the properties panel in the 3D viewport.

Quick Start

You can access the Graswald menu by hitting n to open the properties panel on the right side of your 3D viewport. From there, you can create new particle systems, add plants, scatter, customize materials and much more. For more info, visit our YouTube Channel.

3D Models

With the Asset Library you'll get access to 32 different species of plants and debris as 1,259 individual 3D Models. We converted them to native formats 3ds Max (Arnold, Corona, Octane, Redshift, Vray), Maya (Arnold, Redshift, Renderman, Vray) and Cinema 4D (Arnold, Redshift, VRay, Octane, Corona). We also ship fbx files and the textures as png in different resolutions with the Asset Library.

The models come in two levels of detail and as single or clump models, allowing you to create even larger scenes. Each species has different variants (Big, Small, Dead, Flowers, etc.) and each variant has a multitude of individual models. We also provide proxy models for each variant, giving you even more optimization. The assets have PBR materials that can be plugged in any modern render engine for a photorealistic look. With our additional age maps you can even simulate the seasons by aging the plants.

How to get started?

Installation

The Asset Library doesn't need to be installed, simply download the zip file configured for your preferred software and open the files. If you use a different software, you can import the assets as fbx files and set up the materials using our PBR textures.
